The main component of glass fiber is: silicon oxide, which is an inorganic material with very stable physical and chemical properties, high strength and high modulus.

 

Characteristics

1.High tensile strength and low elongation - Fiberglass geogrid is made of glass fibre and have high resistance to deformation, with an elongation at break of less than 3%.

2.Creep resistance - as a reinforcing material, it is extremely important to have the ability to resist deformation under long-term loading, i.e. creep resistance.

3.Excellent thermal stability - the fusion point of glass fibres above 1000°C, which ensures that the fiberglass geogrid is thermally stable during paving operations.

4.Compatibility with asphalt mix - the material coated in the post-treatment process is designed for the asphalt mix, with each fibre being fully coated and highly compatible with the asphalt, thus ensuring that the fiberglass geogrid does not segregate from the asphalt mix in the asphalt layer, but is firmly bonded together.

5.Physico-chemical stability - with a special post-treatment agent for coating, the fiberglass geogrid is resistant to all types of physical and chemical abrasion, as well as biological erosion and climate change, ensuring that its performance remains unaffected.it can effectively restrain the lateral displacement of the soil, and enhance the stability of the foundation.

6.It can effectively avoid the construction damage caused by the machine crushing and destruction during the construction process.

7.Aggregate embedment and restriction - As the fiberglass geogrid is a mesh structure, the aggregates in the asphalt concrete can penetrate through it, thus creating a mechanical embedment lock. This restriction impedes the movement of the aggregates and enables the asphalt mix to achieve a better compaction, higher load bearing capacity, better load transfer performance and smaller deformation under load.
