Ecological slope protection is a slope protection technology that combines the basics of engineering mechanics, soil science, ecology and botany to support the slope or side slope and form an integrated slope protection system consisting of plants or engineering and plants. After the formation of an excavated slope, the interaction between plants and rock and soil (root anchoring) protects and strengthens the surface of the slope by planting plants so that it not only meets the requirements of the stability of the roadbed but is also an effective method of slope protection and consolidation to recovery the damaged natural ecological environment.

The specific method of the ecological slope protection technique is to first lay wire mesh or plastic mesh over the rock and secure it with ground nails and bolts. The raw plant concrete is mixed and sprayed on the rock slope using conventional spray anchoring equipment to form a plant concrete close to 10 cm thick. After spraying, a layer of non-woven fabric is covered to protect against sun and moisture. The cement allows the vegetated concrete to form a protective layer of some strength. After a period of watering and maintenance, the grass will cover the slope, the non-woven fabric will be removed and the dense grass will grow naturally. The greening technique of concrete boulders can be a complete solution to the greening of rocky slopes.
